I awaited the birth of Ally's # 4 baby with hope & excitement. Wondering who she'd look like-Megan?Parker?Hailey? & couldn't wait to see her. I had been close friends with Ally starting in 1997 when we served in our ward's YW together & then in the Stake YW. I had watched her family grow from just her & Bill to 3 beautiful kids. I adore her & her family & we have shared such good times.
She was nearing the end of this fairly normal pregnancy & was trying to build a house & sell one & continue building their business.
Ally always knew there was something different about this baby. She couldn't put her finger on it but something was preparing her for what was yet to come.
Ally went into normal labor & delivered fairly quickly. She always had her babies quick-Parky was almost born in the car!!! I received the call about 10 minutes after Rylee was born. Something was wrong. Soon after delivery Rylee had a seizure & stopped breathing. She was being rushed to Primary & Ally was staying there at Alta View. I arrived soon after to a stoic & shocked Allyson. Bill had gone up to be with Rylee. We hadn't received any news other than she was stable.
Ally & I sat in her hospital room & cried & prayed & wondered what would be the outcome. She was so brave. So emotional. Discussing pretty logically what might have happened & what could happen.
Not long after they had discovered that Rylee had severe brain damage suffered in utero probably in the last few weeks of the pregnancy.
The next few months were surreal for the Hendricks family. Suddenly taking crash courses on taking care of a very sick baby: feeding with a tube, trying to console a sweet baby in a broken body.

It was crushing to watch this family go through this challenge, but at the same time very heart-warming.

Oh, how they loved her. Oh, how they cared for her every need.
Two-and-a-half years of silly smiles, cute bare feet, fun baths, playing, singing, adorable outfits, hugs, kisses.

Their beautiful home-filled with love & laughter, hope & faith, & friends & family who have learned to love this sweet, sweet child.

Their hearts filled with a sincere desire to understand the lessons brought from having to endure this trial, finding humor in everyday, showering their other children with attention & affection, & continuing to hold dear the truths that they have been taught.
With a stronger testimony of the Lord's will, Heavenly Father's love & the plan of salvation, this family has continually sought His wisdom and faithfully followed the counsel of the impressions that have come to them & they have been blessed.

To Ally & her family-thank you for your example of sacrifice, love, faith, obedience, family & testimony.
& Rylee-it was a privilege to know you, hold you, sing to you & love you.
