Traditions. It's A Tough Job But Someone's Got To Do It.

Sugar Cookies
mix together:
1 c sugar
1/2 c butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg, room temperature
then add:
2 2/3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
dash salt
dash nutmeg
mix together and then add:
1/2 c sour cream
mix well
roll out & cut into very fun & festive Christmas shapes
make sure you have a cute Kindergarten helper nearby.
Oh, and the telephone.
Bake at 400 degrees for just 7 minutes.
Edges will NOT be brown
that's a good thing
Cool completely & ice with Buttercream Frosting
Add lots of color & fun stuff.
Take some to neighbors, friends, the ward party.
Save one or two for Santa...

Been a family tradition since I was a kid.
Now my kids look forward to it. And they make beautiful masterpiece cookies
